Clare’s Crown Birthday

in Life & Thoughts,Occasion

While I was in the states I created a post for each of my closest friend’s birthdays – just a little fuss to make up for the fact that I cannot be there with them. However, now that I am back in South Africa and seeing my friends everyday the birthday posts have stopped. I have decided to make an exception for my best friend Clare.

She celebrated her crown birthday 2 weeks ago, I know in the USA people don’t really understand what that means, basically the day of your birthday corresponds with the age that you are turning. On the 30th of December 2012 Clare turned 30 years old = crown birthday!

For her birthday theme she decided to stick with the “crown” and go with “Rock & Royal”. The event was held on their beautiful family farm, Lourensford, where the Aleit team did wonders with organising the party of the year! Manouche was the opening band that played while everyone was arriving – they were AMAZING! Later in the evening The Parlotones opened the dance floor with Clare’s theme song “Sweet Caroline” – it was quite something!

It was a wonderful opportunity for me also to see many friends that I have missed during my 6 months in Dallas and I loved catching up with everyone! It was also very special to have Robert there for this night and to introduce him to the last few people he still needed to meet – we had the BEST time!

Thank you Clara for such an unforgettable evening – I love you so much and cannot wait to celebrate your next 30 birthdays (and more) with you! MWAH
